Milo and Tia had been walking for hours. The sun had long since set, and the only light came from the moon and the stars above. Despite the darkness, the forest was still full of life. Crickets chirped, owls hooted, and the occasional rustling in the bushes suggested that there were nocturnal animals about. Milo and Tia were tired, but they kept walking, following the faint trail that they hoped would lead them to the magical lake.
As they walked, they talked about their adventures so far. Milo told Tia about the giant tree, and how he had almost fallen off. Tia told Milo about the cave, and how she had felt something pulling her towards it. They laughed and joked, but there was an undercurrent of tension beneath their banter. They both knew that they were getting closer to their goal, but they didn’t know what they would find when they got there.
